Tourist itinerary for Abu Dhabi

Sample itinerary for a tourist looking to visit Abu Dhabi for 10 days.

Day 1:

Arrive in Abu Dhabi and check into your hotel. Spend the day exploring the city and its many attractions. Visit the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Emirates Palace Hotel, and the Abu Dhabi Corniche. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Arabic meal at a local restaurant.

Day 2:

Spend the day at Yas Island, home to Abu Dhabi’s Formula 1 race track, Ferrari World, and Yas Waterworld. In the evening, watch the sun set over the city from the top of the Etihad Towers.

Day 3:

Head out of the city and into the desert for a day of dune bashing and camel riding. End the day with a BBQ dinner under the stars.

Day 4:

Visit the Heritage Village to learn about traditional Emirati culture. Then head to the Gold Souk to see the city’s famous gold market. In the evening, take a sunset cruise on a traditional wooden dhow boat.

Day 5:

Spend the day at Saadiyat Island, home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi, the Zayed National Museum, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

Day 6:

Head to the Eastern Mangroves for a day of kayaking and exploring the mangrove forests. In the evening, watch the sunset over the water from the deck of your kayak.

Day 7:

Visit the camel racing track and then head to the Liwa Desert for a safari. See the sun set over the sand dunes before heading back to your hotel.

Day 8:

Spend the day exploring Abu Dhabi’s many malls, including Marina Mall, Yas Mall, and Abu Dhabi Mall. In the evening, catch a movie at VOX Cinemas or visit the Abu Dhabi Fountain Show.

Day 9:

Visit the Sheikh Zayed Mosque and then head to the Emirates National Auto Museum. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Emirati dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 10:

Check out of your hotel and head to the airport for your flight home.
